Sydney Private Schools introduces Pennington Primary School in Pennington, for all your education and learning for your childs future, We invite you to explore and learn more about the quality 21st Century education with Pennington Primary School.
Pennington Primary School is situated in the western suburbs of Adelaide and has been in existence on the present Butler Avenue site since 1966. The school serves five main areas – Pennington, Rosewater, Ottoway, Athol Park and Cheltenham. The current enrolment is 322 total with a break down of 217 mainstream and 105 children who are in the New Arrivals Program.
Enrolments have fluctuated as a result of new housing developments and changing migration policies. Children travel from other suburbs to join the New Arrivals Program and leave the school once their English language skills have been developed to the stage which would allow them to join a mainstream class. Children usually spend one year in a New Arrivals program. Our New Arrivals students are from countries spread across the continents of Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. In 2005 the number of students increased much more rapidly and we have started the last couple of years with higher numbers of New Arrivals classes.
At this time 234 students come from non-English speaking backgrounds covering 45 nationalities, 34 languages and even more dialects. Currently these children are placed in eight New Arrivals Program and eight mainstream classes. Approximately 40% of the students are recipients of the School Card. About 8% of students are of Aboriginal background.
Welcome to Pennington Primary School one of the popular educators in your Pennington area. Our aim is help you in your learning journey.
We endeavour to celebrate each other's uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
