The Hills Montessori Childrens School

Sydney Private Schools introduces The Hills Montessori Childrens School in Mitchelton, for all your education and learning needs.

The Hills Montessori Children’s School is privately owned and is licensed under the Child Care Act 2002. The school must therefore comply with the Act and the Child Care Regulation 2003, including requirements about the activities, experiences, programs, numbers of staff members and children, and staff members’ qualifications. It is supported by a very active non-profit Parents & Friends Committee which regularly undertakes fundraising activities to help finance special projects and new Montessori materials.

The school opened on 27 April 1987 and was founded by Mignon Weber, Mont Dip (AMI). The original site of the school was in Arana Hills. Mignon was Director of the school for 21 years and now assists at the school on a regular basis. In 2008 the school moved to its new site in Mitchelton and changed its name to The Hills Montessori Children’s School. The school remains a single unit multi-age school catering for 24 children in Cycle One (ages 3-6 years).

The Weber/de Zilva family has given the school, as well as Montessori, their unwavering commitment and dedication for more than 20 years.
