Lakeland Senior High School is located in South Lake. The school is close to the city and situated near the freeway and Cockburn Central train and bus station. Partner primary schools include Beeliar Primary School, Yangebup Primary School, Bibra Lake Primary School and South Lake Primary School.
A number of students from outside of the Lakeland zone attend the school in order to access a number of specialist education programs. High academic performance is promoted along with outstanding Vocational Education and Training opportunities for students in Years 10-12. Year 11 and 12 students have access to approximately 35 different Certificate Courses.
Students are encouraged to “Strive to Achieve” which is our school motto.
Students who perform well in all facets of school life may apply for a level of student status referred to as Advanced Standing. These students are recognised and rewarded for their efforts. Elite performance is embraced and we are very proud of our many outstanding athletes, past and present,
who have represented Western Australia and Australia. Other students have excelled in Vocational Education and Training e.g. Subject Exhibition, Prime Minister’s Award and numerous other prizes. The school has received acclaim for its performances in the Arts, especially in Drama and Music (in 2009, Lakeland Senior High School won the Drama section in the Youth on Health Festival). The wearing of school uniform is compulsory.
